Japanese Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork that seeks to restore your body’s natural balance of energy. Your therapist will hold and release acupressure points of the body throughout the session.

The word “shiatsu” in Japanese in fact means “finger pressure.” This Eastern form of bodywork has many roots that stem from Traditional Chinese Medicine. For example: the concept of meridians being the energy pathways of the body. The work includes a combination of muscle compression & softening, joint mobilization & stretching, and stimulation of acupressure points, leaving the client relaxed, centered, and balanced. Shiatsu massage is typically performed on the floor mat, but sometimes we can accommodate requests for it being adapted to a table session. This service is always fully clothed and oil-less; we will provide you with a change of clothes or feel free to wear your own comfortable and flexible attire.
